Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 15, 1819 and again on September 29, 1838 and Apri l30, 1999.
The arms show the local castle. The fleur-de-lys were added after the stay of the French crownprince Louis (later King Louis XI) from 1456-1461. The arms already appear on the 15th century seals of the city.
