Origin/meaning

Knivsta was created in 2003 by separating the area from the city of Uppsala, and the new municipality was granted arms later that year. The new arms symbolise the Mora Stenar where, in ancient times, the Swedish Kings where elected, and are the winning contribution in a contest. The Winner was Jacob Blumenthal a young school boy.
