Province : Vest-Agder
Additions : 1964 Halse og Harkmark, Holum

Arms of Mandal

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 2, 1921.

The arms show three salmon, symbolising the importance of salmon fishing on the Mandalselv. Mandal is the southernmost municipality with a large salmon population. Salmon fishing also played a major role in the development of the village.
