MARCHISSY

Canton : Vaud

Armoiries de Marchissy

Official blazon

D'argent à la barre de sinople chargée d'une fleur de tilleul d'or.

Origin/meaning

Formerly a village formerly part of the Barony of Aubonne, Marchissy has a church on a hill and two beautiful linden trees. This picturesque appearance appeared on the sign of the local inn. Today, one of the trees and the sign have disappeared, but the linden flower on the coat of arms adopted in 1915 by the municipality still refers to the inn sign.
