English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 29, 2022.

The helmet is the symbol of St. Mauritius, the local patron saint, who was a Roman soldier. The wheatears and the grapes symbolise the agricultural character of the area as well as the "Côtes de Meuse" wines (protected origin name). The millstone refer to the important former water mills in the area.

Blue, gold and silver are the colours of the Diocese of Verdun, to which the area belonged in medieval times. Gold and blue are the colours of the Duchy of Bar, to which the village belonged afterwards.

The mirabelle plum branches refer to the local orchards.
