SANKT LAMBRECHT

State : Steiermark
District : Murau

Origin/meaning

The arms appear not to have been formally granted, but have been in use for some centuries. As the borough lies in the mining region of Upper Styria, the Bergknappe (miner) in his traditional white attire holding his tools is an obvious choice for a coat of arms.

The Benedictine monastery of St. Lambrecht, once the landlord of the market borough, uses another coat of arms.
