Official blazon

Shield: Argent (Silver Grey), three chevronels Azure (Old Glory Blue), on a chief of the last an eagle displayed Or perched on a wagon wheel issuing from base of the of the field, rims and spoke of the third charged with three mullets of the first (White).
Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Virginia Army National Guard: From a wreath Argent and Azure (Old Glory blue), "Virtus, the genius of the Commonwealth, dressed as an Amazon, resting on a spear with one hand and holding a sword in the other; and treading on Tyranny, represented by a man prostrate, a crown falling from his head, a broken chain in his left hand and a scourge in his right," all Proper.
Motto: Support and Protect.

Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 !/( inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Argent (Silver Grey), three chevronels Azure (Old Glory Blue), on a chief of the last an eagle dispalyed Or perched on a wagon wheel issuing from base of the of the field, rims and spoke of the third charged with three mullets of the first (White). Across the bottom of the device is a Dark Blue scroll inscribed "SUPPORT AND PROTECT" in gold letters.

Origin/meaning

The Colours allude to the 29th Infantry Division nicknamed "Blue and Gray" as it is composed of Unit from States that fought on both sides in the US Civil War. The Eagle and Wagon Wheel is from the Insignia of the Quartermaster Corps, symbolising the Logistics role. The Interlaced Chevrons symbolises Support and Strength.

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insignia, was both approved on 27 October 2008.
