The arms were granted on September 14, 1944. The Arms is based on the Parish Seal. This in turn alludes to the Crown on the Roof of the Svärdsjö Church. <br>
In conjunction with the Vase, symbolises the help given by the Inhabitants of Svärdsjö to the future King of Sweden Gustav Eriksson (Vasa) during his flight through Dalarana Province.
