Province (Landskap): Skåne
County (Län): Skåne län (until 1997 Kristianstads län)

Arms of Tomelilla

Official blazon

I rött fält en balkvis ställd flygande glada i silver.

Origin/meaning

A first proposal for the municipality to adopt arms was made in 1954 by the heraldic artist Jan Raneke and showing a wild boar was not accepted. The new arms, granted in 2002, show another reference to the wildlife of Tomelilla a kite (glada).
