US ARMY DENTAL ACTIVITY FORT BRAGG
Official blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height overall consisting of a group of three green pine trees charged with a silver cross enclosed at the top and bottom by a silver scroll inscribed "DEDICATION" at the top and "EXCELLENCE" at the bottom in maroon letters.
Origin/meaning
Maroon and white (silver) are the colors traditionally associated with the Medical Corps. The pine trees allude to the unit's home area at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, the "Tar Heel State." Their color, green, is symbolic of rejuvenation, life and health, and refers to the unit's mission. The cross is a traditional symbol of care and assistance and further denotes the DENTAC's mission and close accord with the field of medicine.
The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 15 May 1980.
