A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in width overall consisting of two crossed silver color olive branches in front of a maroon equilateral triangle bordered silver and charged with a red cross between two upright silver swords points conjoined.
Origin/meaning
Maroon and white are the colors associated with the Dental Corps. The triangle, or Greek "Delta," symbolizes support and a strong foundation. The red cross, a symbol of mercy and healing, refers to the unit's mission. The swords and olive branches have been adapted from the SHAPE insignia and connote the unit's area of operation and service as well as its military nature and dedication to peace.
The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 3 October 1980.
