Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on December 20, 1973.
The arms show the arms of the three main rulers in the region; the lion from the Dukes of Pfalz-Zweibrücken, the balls (in inverted colours) of the Counts of Sickingen and the eagle for the Counts of Leiningen. The bordure is a common symbol for a Verbandsgemeinde.
To the Verbandsgemeinde belong :

- Hettenhausen
- Knopp-Labach
- Krähenberg
- Obernheim-Kirchenarnbach
- Saalstadt
- Schauerberg
- Schmitshausen

- Weselberg
- Winterbach (Pfalz)
