VILLMERGEN

Canton : Aargau
Additions : 2010 Hilfikon

Wappen von Villmergen

Official blazon

In Weiss rote Rose mit gelben Butzen und grünen Kelchblättern.

Origin/meaning

The arms are supposedly derived from the medieval arms of the Lords of Vilmaringen (the old name of the village), but the seals of the family show a silver point in black and no roses. The rose appeared on the local seals from 1811.
