English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 26, 1993.
The origin of the arms is not well known. The arms are derived from a 17th century seal of the town. The eagle is the eagle of Brandenburg, the 3 leaves probably symbolise farming (i.e. agriculture), viticulture und fruit-growing.
During DDR times the left half was gold, but in 1993 the historical silver was restored.
The arms in an album from around 1905
The arms in the Kurmark Wappenschau album from 1929
