History: Constituted as 81 Finance Disbursing Unit, Fighter, Single Engine, and activated, on 1 May 1948. Redesignated as 81 Finance Disbursing Unit, Fighter, Jet, on 16 Jul 1949. Inactivated on 3 Nov 1949. Disbanded on 9 Aug 1950. Reconstituted, redesignated as 81 Comptroller Squadron, and activated, on 1 Jul 1985. Inactivated on 1 Jul 1993. Activated on 1 May 1995.
