Geviert von Blau und (?); in 1 und 4 ein silbernes Kreuz; in 2 und 3 ein Hahn auf einem Dreiberg.
Origin/meaning
The arms quarter the cross of the Diocese of Speyer with canting arms (Haneberg, from Hahn (rooster) and Berg (mountain)). He also used a variation with his personal arms on a quartered shield of Speyer-Weissenburg (for the title Dean of the former Abbey of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul in Wissembourg, now in France, the abbey was in use until 1792), this was probably used after 1870 when Wissembourg became a German possession again.
Before he was abbot in the Abbey of St. Bonifatius in München from 1854-1872. As abbot he used the arms shown below. These show three shields, the arms of St. Bonifatius, the arms of the Priory of Andechs and the personal arms.
