Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on February 19, 2013.

The arms show the 18^th century monument, the Pyramid of Igé. The chief shows two scallops of St. James, as the village is on one of the pilgrimage roads to Santiago de Compostela. The Canadian maple leaf symbolises the emigration to Canada from the region in the 19th and 20th centuries.
