Origin/meaning
The Red is the traditional Colour of Spanish Troops. The Wavy Fess symbolises the River Garellano, which have given the Battle its Name. The Two Rapiers symbolises the two attacks carried out by the Spanish Troops. The Fleur de lis indicates the French Troops defeated in the Battle. The present Coat of Arms was approved on 19 December 1990.
