Origin/meaning
The above arms were designed in 2016, but have not formally been approved. they are sometimes used by the city, but the city does not have official arms.
The arms are identical to the arms of the Margraves of Landsberg, a branch of the Wettin dynasty, who since the 10th century ruled the area. The arms first appear in the late 12th century.
