Origin/meaning
The Society is a branch of the Scandinavian Heraldry Society and the arms thus show the same pattern and colours. Instead of the crowns, a grill of St. Lawrence, the symbol of the Diocese of Lund is used.
The raven in the helmet ornament is taken from the coat of arms of Dr. Jan Raneke, who was the most prominent heraldist in Skåne in the 20th century and who in the 1960s was one of the founders of Societas Heraldica Scanica, a predecessor to the now active local branch.
