NO 146 WING HEADQUARTERS, ROYAL AIR FORCE
History: the Wing was formed at Tangmere in May 1944.
Official blazon
Badge: In front of two swords argent hilted Or in saltire the point upwards a winged maple fruit proper (green and brown)
Motto: Proxime et celerrime = Most closely and swiftly.
Origin/meaning
The Swords alludes to the combat undertaken by the Units of the Wing. These was mainly made up of Canadian Squadrons, which is indicated by the Maple. The badge was granted in July 1945.
