History: History: Formed at Merryfield in February 1945. Renumbered as No 53 Squadron in December 1946. Reformed in February 1953 at Aston Down.

Origin/meaning

One of the Roles of the Squadron was the collection of Aircraft from Manufacturers and delivering them to Operation Units. The Badge was approved in 1953.
