Un scut triunghiular albastru cu marginile rotunjite, împărțit în pal de aur încărcat cu un mesteacăn smuls, în culoare naturală. În partea dreaptă se află două monede de argint, dispuse în pal, reproducând monedele antice "tip Petelea": cea de sus, aversul, cu capul zeiței Artemis Tauropolos stilizat, privind spre stânga, și cea de jos, reversul, cu un călăreț stilizat, orientat spre dreapta. În partea stângă se află un jgheab asuprind o roată de moară de apă, văzută din semiprofil, ambele de argint. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 1, 2018.

Birch (Betula pendula) represents the local flora, alluding to the origin of the toponym of Petelea commune (Pytulia - Betulia, Birk), and the golden background - cereal crops.

The ancient silver coins type Petelea - unique typology in the country - represent the patrimonial values, the treasure discovered in the commune.

The mill wheel with trough evokes the traditional milling and the mill where Mihai Eminescu was hosted at Petelea, the stop inspiring sequences and characters in the novel "Desert Genius".

The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
