Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on OCtober 3, 1966 and were newly devised as there were no old seals or arms known for the town.

The tree is a symbol of the historical court that was held in Senden. In Germanic times the courts were always held under a large oak tree. The colours are derived from the arms of the 17^th century family Von Droste von Senden, who originated from the village.

The bend is derived from the arms of the Lords of Senden from the Benekamp family.
