The Lion on the Bend is taken from the Arms of Normandy and alludes to the Regiment's participation in the Normandy Landings in 1944. The Bend itself alludes to the Rhineland. The Wyvern in the Crest alluds to the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, which the Regiment formed part of during the 1950ies. The Pheon (Arrowhead) symbolises Normandy and Rhineland Combat Jumps.
