The arms show in the upper half the symbols for a Roman Catholic Basilica. The third quarter shows the image of the statue 'Onze Lieve Vrouw van Eiteren' in the basilica. The fourth quarter shows the arms of the municipality [[IJsselstein]], a common pattern in all Dutch arms for basilica. | |||
The motto means : Domina Nostra In Eiteren Ora Pro Nobis, (Dutch: Onze Lieve Vrouw van Eiteren bid voor ons; English: Our Lady of Eiteren, pray for us) | |||
