The shamrock refers to Saint Maurice (whose attribute is a trefoil cross) to whom the church of Bonconville is dedicated. | |||
The chief refers to the defensive elements of the old castle which belonged in the 14th century to the Counts of Bar. The blue colour and the crosiers are also taken from their arms (see previous arms below). | |||
