The first arms of Ludwigsfelde date from 1965 and show a cogwheel for the local car industry
The first arms of Ludwigsfelde date from 1965 and show a cogwheel for the local car industry, an apartment building for the rapid growth of the town and in base a pilon for the highway bridge. The colours were those of the East German flag, see below.
 
The current arms were granted in 1993 and show a pine tree, a typical tree for the region. The cogwheel remained and as additional symbol an eagle's claw was added. This is taken from the arms of the von der Gröben family[[File:372a.wsa.jpg|100 px]], who had their estate in Gröben.
