The Fleur-de-lis symbolises World War I service in Lorraine, Saint Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. The Lion symbolises service in Belgium and the Netherlands during World War II. The Wavy Bar symbolises the Rhineland where the Battalion also saw service during World War II. The Bordure symbolise a Parachute and alludes to Service with the 82nd Airborne Division. The Griffin symbolises the coordinated Campaign of the Allies. The five Hills symbolises the liberation of the City of Nijmegen. The Roundel allude to the Wheel in the Insignia of the Quartermaster and Transportation Corps. The Parachute and its nine cords symbolises the Nine Campaigns the parent Unit participated in during World War I and II. The Colour commemorate the Decorations awarded to the Battalion; red and green for the Belgian Fourragere, red for the Meritorious Unit Commendation adn orange fro the Netherlands Lanyard.
