====Origin/meaning====
The arms are based on the seal and arms of the medieval estate of Luneville, which showed a red bend instead of the present blue bend. The arms may be derived from the arms of Lorraine, in which the eagles of Lorraine were replaced by canting crescents (from luna, latin or lune, French for moon). The colours were changed to distinguish the present arms from the historical ones.
