(en) Per fess, nowy to base, Or and Vert, in chief a springbok head affrontee couped proper, and in base a sunflower Or, seeded Sable.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 27, 1992.

The Springbok Flats stretch north of Pretoria and take their name from the large herds of this graceful gazelle, the South African national animal, which were found there in days gone by. One of the principal crops now grown on the Flats is the sunflower, hence the combination of a springbok head and a sunflower.
