Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1986.

The arms combine elements for the three former municipalities.

The three crowned lions are taken from the arms of the De Lannoy family, Lords of Steenokkerzeel in the 16^th century. Their arms are seen on the seal of the village from 1537 and 1566.

The point is taken from the arms of Perk, the large lion from the arms of Melsbroek, see there.
