The Manchester Regiment, British Army
History: Raised in 1757 as the 2nd Battalion of the 8th Foot (King's) becoming in 1758 the 63rd Foot and in 1824 as the 96th Foot. In 1881 these two Regiment become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Manchester Regiment. In 1958 amalgamated with The King's Regiment (Liverpool), British Army to form the King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool) in 1968 redesignated The King's Regiment, British Army.
