Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 2010.
The lion's head is taken from the arms of the Salses family, lords of Châtel in the 18th century, who used a lion in their arms. The gold bezant is one of three of the coat of arms of the Espinoy family, the clover is taken from the arms of the Canel family. Both families were former lords of Châtel. The blue background is found in all three of the family arms.
The silver cross on red is taken from the arms of the abbey of Chéhéry, which still exists in the village as a private residence. The anvil symbolizes the former forges of Chéhéry, operated by the monks until the 19th century..
