Origin/meaning
The cross is the common symbol for Christianity, the red colour and the small crosses refer to the four wounds of Christ. The blue bar refers to the Pacific Ocean, where the bishop was working. The lower half shows the religious division of the Cook Islanders, 80% Protestant, 10% Catholic (black part) and 10% other.
