Sebastianópolis do Sul
SEBASTIANÓPOLIS DO SUL
State : São Paulo
Portuguese | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 23, 1977.
The arrows are the attribute of St. Sebastian, patron saint of the city and are also canting: Sebastianopolis = City of Sebastian; the wavy bar alludes to the São Jose dos Dourados river, which flows near the city; the chief charged with a cross represents the first chapel built by the settlers.
The supporters show that coffee and corn are important agricultural products of the region.
The shield is surmounted by a mural crown appropriate to a city and a scroll below the shield bears the name of the city.
