Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 21, 1986.
The diamond refers to the diamond cutting and polishing industry founded in the village around 1887. The miner's tools refer to the former importance of coal mining in the municipality.
The base shows the local bell tower (founded in 1788 by Marianne von der Leyen) and a linden tree. Both are landmarks in the village. Silver and blue are the colours of the arms of Von der Leyen.
Literature: Debus, 1988
