German | In Rot ein goldener Schrägbalken, begleitet von zwei schreitenden goldenen Löwen, der untere überhöht von einem goldenen Stern. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 1927.
The bailiwick of Andelfingen used the arms of the County of Kyburg after the extinction of the Counts of Kyburg in 1264.
The star as a distinguishing feature is shown in the upper field in the Murer plan of 1576, the star in the lower field appears on the administrative disc of Hans Jakob Nüscheler the Elder from 1616.
