Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 17, 1975.
The upper half shows the lion of the Pfalz region, to which the area belongs. The wavy division line refers to the Glan river and the -bach (brook, stream) part of the name.
The mitre refers to the so-called Remigiusland, an historical area ruled by the Bishop of Reims, Saint Remigius.
