89th Attack Squadron, US Air Force
History: Organized as 89 Aero Squadron on 19 Aug 1917. Demobilized on 19 May 1919. Reconstituted and consolidated (1936) with 89 Observation Squadron (Long Range, Light Bombardment) which was constituted on 1 Mar 1935. Redesignated as:89 Reconnaissance Squadron on 24 Oct 1936; 89 Reconnaissance Squadron (Medium Range) on 22 Dec 1939. Activated on 1 Feb 1940. Redesignated as:89 Reconnaissance Squadron (Medium) on 20 Nov 1940; 432 Bombardment Squadron (Medium) on 22 Apr 1942. Inactivated on 26 Nov 1945. Redesignated as 432 Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, and converted to provisional status, on 16 Jan 2002. Withdrawn from provisional status, and redesignated as 432 Bomb Squadron on 16 Feb 2007. Redesignated as 432 Attack Squadron on 1 Sep 2011. Activated on 1 Oct 2011. Redesignated as 89 Attack Squadron on 21 Jun 2016.
