Wappen von Verbandsgemeinde Südeifel

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on March 15, 2016.

The arms have taken the tower from the arms of the former Verbandsgemeinde Neuerburg and the vross from Verbandsgemeinde Irrel. The red and silver colours refer to the Counts of Vianden, who ruled the area until 1264. The wavy bend refers to the many (small) rivers in the area.

The bordure is a typical symbol for a Verbandsgemeinde.
