Origin/meaning

The arms show symbols for the two villages in the municipality and the wavy bend for the Garstorfer Aubach river.

The oak leaves refer to the village of Toppenstedt, the lower half the famous Disc of Tangendorf, a 3rd century fibula found in the village.
