Administrative division

Austria is divided in 9 States (Länder). These states are made up of 85 districts (Bezirke) and 18 Cities. The Bezirke are further divided into just over 2300 municipalities (Gemeinden). The city of Wien is further divided into 23 city-districts (also Bezirke).

All States and nearly all municipalities use arms. The districts do not use arms.
