SALZBURG

State : Salzburg

Wappen von Salzburg/Arms (crest) of Salzburg
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 14, 1931, but date from medieval times.

The arms are based on the medieval seal of the city, which showed a very typical design of the time; a city wall with three (church) towers.

Literature: Zaisberger, F. and Pfeiffer, N. : Salzburger Gemeindewappen. Winter Verlag, Salzburg, 1985
