The wavy bar symbolizes the Bașeu river. The hive represents the old name of the locality - Știubei, being the old name of the beehive.
The lion refers to an old owner of the village of Știubei, named Leo, who sold the village to King Stephen the Great.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
