English Description/Blazon A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: Checky Argent and Sable, on a pile Argent (Silver Gray) a Viking helmet of the second detailed Or, emitting a lightning flash to base Azure (Oriental Blue). Attached above the shield a Blue scroll inscribed ""FUROR FULMINIS" in Silver letters.

Origin/meaning

Symbolism Oriental blue and silver gray are the colors traditionally associated with Military Intelligence units. The pile reflects accuracy and the ability to pinpoint information. The blue lightning bolt emphasizes that ability while symbolizing speed and electronic warfare. The checky background alludes to strategy. The Viking helmet connotes protection and preparedness.
