Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consiting of a shield blazoned: Per bend Azure and Gules, in chief a lozenge Argent and in base a flacon close upon a mount Or, on a canton of the second fimbriated of the last a dexter arm embowed grasping a broad sword Gold, all within a bordure of the last. attached below the shield a Gold scroll inscribed "POSSET" in Black letters.

Origin/meaning

The shield is the arms of the 241st Coast Artillery Regiment within a brodure, indicating descent from that organization. The Blue and Red Fields symbolizes service as both Infantry and Artillery. The Canton is the old device of the Roxbury Artillery. The white diamond was the insignia of the 3rd Corps of the Army of the Potomac in the civil War, and the Falcon on a Mount symbolises action at Mount Faucon in France during World War I.

The arms were approved for the 772nd Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, Massachusetts Army National Guard on 30 November 1951. It was rescinded on 15 August 1951. Reinstated and redesignated for the 164th Transportation Battalion on 13 November 2006. The Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved for the 772nd Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion on 30 november 1951. It was rescinded on 15 August 1961. It was redesignated for the 164th Transportation Battalion on 18 December 1967. It was redesignated for the 1058th Transportation Company with the description and symbolism revised on 2? January 1991. It was redesignated for the 164th Transportation Battalion on 13 November 2006.
