97th Air Mobility Wing, US Air Force

History: Established as 97 Bombardment Wing, Very Heavy, on 11 September 1947. Organized on 1 December 1947. Redesignated as:97 Bombardment Wing, Medium, on 12 July 1948; 97 Bombardment Wing, Heavy, on 1 October 1959; 97 Wing on 1 September 1991. Inactivated on 1 April 1992. Redesignated as 97 Air Mobility Wing on 21 August 1992. Activated on 1 October 1992.

The emblem was approved on 2 May 1957; latest rendering, 7 February 2019. The 97th Bombardment Group emblem was approved 5 March 1943. The Motto translates as "The hour has come".
