Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 17, 1957.

The arms show elements from the arms of the three municipalities; the axe from Schliprüthen, the crosier from Oedingen and the oak leaf from Schönholthausen.

The colours are those of the State of Köln, to which the area historically belonged.
