Origin/meaning
The arms show the village church accompanied by three fleur-de-lys taken from the Saintonge region coat of arms.
The wavy bars represents the Mortier river in the village. The sword is the attribute of Saint Martin, the patron saint of the parish.
The base shows a Roman road marker is the one that was found on the the old Roman road which crossed the town.
